Graphic Designer Vacancy

Hours – Full time 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday. An application for part-time hours would be considered.

Salary band – £24,000 to £32,000 per annum, pro rata, with the potential for profit-related bonuses.

Location – Based at Systematic HQ, LN7 6QA with the potential for hybrid working from home for up 3 days a week.

Role purpose

Creating impactful graphic design and motion graphics across a range of online and print formats for our client base of leading businesses across the UK. You’ll transform a wide range of client briefs into creative, high-quality designs that elevate their brand communications.

You’ll work within our design agency brand, oodle, which is part of the Systematic family.

For approaching 50 years, Systematic has supported the business goals of organisations, across all sectors, with design, print, mailing and marketing services. In 2023 we evolved two decades of design experience into a new brand, oodle, with the mission of delivering creativity with oomph. Accountabilities

Visual design: Utilise your strong graphic, digital design, and motion graphics skills to develop compelling visuals that support our clients’ brands. Your creativity will be at the heart of our offer.

Collaboration: Work with the other designers at oodle and Account Managers at Systematic, you will add value to client and prospect meetings, evolving briefs into compelling visual concepts. Your proactive communication and trust-building will ensure we exceed our client’s expectations.

Quality assurance: Working within agreed project timescales, you will demonstrate precision and consistency, aligning with the Company’s quality objectives and upholding our role as brand guardians for our clients.

Industry trends: Stay ahead of the curve with the latest industry trends, techniques, and tools in graphic and digital design. Proactively pursue professional development opportunities and actively engage with the creative community to enhance your skills.

Skills, knowledge and behaviours

Education: A bachelor’s degree in graphic design or a related field is essential. A specialism in 2D or 3D animation, photography, web UX/UI design prototyping, or digital marketing is desirable.

Experience: A strong portfolio showcasing your creative abilities and design expertise is required. You will ideally have proven experience in graphic design, digital design, or motion graphics, within an agency environment.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in graphic design software e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign is essential, and advanced animation/video/digital tools, e.g., After Effects, Premiere Pro, Animate, Blender, Rive, Cinema4D, XD is desirable.

Creativity: Bring strong artistic, conceptual, and creative skills to translate complex ideas into engaging visuals while maintaining the integrity of the original brief.

Communication: Strong communication skills are essential. You will effectively articulate ideas, collaborate with team members, and provide and receive feedback constructively in a team-orientated environment.

Time management: Excellent organisational skills are needed to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines without compromising on quality.

Adaptability: Be agile in responding to evolving project requirements, changing priorities, and timelines, while continuously learning new tools, techniques, and trends.
