Organisations of all sizes across the UK can boost recognition of their responsible business practices through accreditation to The Good Business Charter. It is here to recognise, champion and encourage responsible business behaviour for the benefit of people and planet. This is such an important message and one that The Good Business Charter asked oodle to amplify through an explainer animation.
Our ‘oodling’ began with a discovery meeting with the team at GBC, to learn more about their objectives, whilst getting to the heart of their brand. The presence of our Digital Designer Andrew offered an outside perspective, a fresh pair of eyes that helped everyone to understand ‘what good looked like’ for the outcomes of the animation. It became evident that there were two distinct target audiences that would be best served by two short, bespoke animations.
With scripts in place, Andrew storyboarded the animations to capture a visual representation of each scene. The storyboards evolved into digital canvases, providing an accurate glimpse of the final animations, which were shared for review. The feedback was extremely positive, with a few minor tweaks actioned to ensure that the animations fully delivered on the vision of the project.
The first animation, shared on the above link, raises awareness of the Good Business Charter among members of the public. The imagery and tone of voice engage a wide audience, demonstrating why the Good Business Charter exists and what the accreditation means for people. We understand the digital landscape, where as many as 70% of people scroll through social media with the sound off. We have a solution – typographic animations. By combining imagery and text, we break through the silence, ensuring messages are shared in a visually engaging way, without the distraction of subtitles.
The second animation shows businesses the tangible benefits of affiliation, alongside how simple and accessible the process of seeking accreditation is.
“We align our creative outputs to a brand’s visual identity, messaging, and values. Through colours, typography, and visual language, animations become an extension of a brand’s collateral. This consistency boosts familiarity and trust, whilst making messages memorable. This all serves to drive engagement, action and return on investment.” Andrew English, Digital Designer at oodle
The Good Business Charter now has a brand narrative in motion! It also has a newly accredited organisation in Systematic, as our family were compelled by the mission of The Good Business Foundation. Here’s a link to more on that theme.
