Ongo Recruitment stands out as a unique recruitment agency. They are a Social Enterprise Employment Agency, focused on people not profits. Their work is not just about connecting individuals with job opportunities, but providing comprehensive training and development programmes to ensure individuals to excel in their careers.
When our design agency oodle was asked if we could help promote the ‘Ongo Journey to Work’ with a 2D explainer animation, we were thrilled! We had an initial meeting with the Ongo team to understand the key objectives and discuss different creative directions the animation might take.
This early collaboration helped focus the project and identify the best way to overcome key challenges. For example, the animation was for a specific ‘business to business’ event but it also had to work for a ‘business to consumer’ audience because it would be used elsewhere at other events.
Ongo needed the animation to connect with people from the Scunthorpe area, so Hayley from their team recorded the voiceover. We have a network of external specialists who can supply professional voiceovers, but here the Ongo voiceover added an authentic touch to the messaging, making it much more relatable and personal.
With a carefully crafted script in hand, we brought the scenes to life through storyboarding and illustrations in their colourful brand style. Before diving into the animation process, we made sure to share the storyboard for Ongo’s review and approval. Their valuable input allowed us to shape the animation’s direction further, ensuring it met their objectives. And once the animation was complete, Ongo had the opportunity to provide feedback, which was overwhelmingly positive, with just a few tweaks needed. This collaborative approach resulted in an impactful and engaging animation.
